The Bette Davis quote shown at the beginning of the film is misquoted
Synopsis
In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But when a mysterious killer stalks Hollywood starlets, a trail of blood threatens to expose her sinister past. Hollywood star Maxine stubs out a cigarette with Theda Bara, the actress Pearl who inspired her to name her alligator in Pearl (2022).

It actually reads, “Until you’re known in my profession as a monster, you’re not a star.” Maxine Minx: Do you know what happened to the last person who tried to kill me? I crushed their fucking head. Fitting the film’s 80s aesthetic, a “Be a Nice and Rewind” sticker is displayed after the credits, similar to those found on many video rental stores.
Kudos to the filmmakers for the great trailer, because that’s where the greatness ends
Gimme All Your LovinBy Frank Beard (as Frank Lee Beard), Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill (as Joe Michael Hill)Performed by ZZ TopCourtesy of Warner RecordsWith permission from Warner Music Group Film & TV Licensing. This film has a pretty solid start for the first 15-20 minutes that seems to set the tone but abandons it pretty quickly. The plot is bland and does nothing to make you care about any of the characters except Maxine.
Although at times Maxine is insufferable
Several of the decisions she makes in the film make no sense and are incredibly inconsistent with the character. EVERY “plot twist” in the film’s plot is predictable if you’ve watched more than 10 films in your life. Kevin Bacon was amazing as usual.
That’s the only reason I gave this a 3
