"Don’t move" I was torn between rating it a 6 or a 7, but in the end the quality of the acting made me give it a 7. The cast gives solid performances that anchor the film, bringing depth and believability to their roles that add some much-needed intensity to an otherwise familiar story. Each of the actors seems truly invested in their characters’ fear and vulnerability, a realism often lacking in horror and thrillers.
The scenery is meticulously crafted, enhancing the feeling of confinement that the story requires
This commitment of the characters helps to heighten the tension, even as the plot remains predictable. Visually, the "Don’t move" he does an excellent job creating an eerie, unsettling atmosphere. The cinematographer makes good use of these spaces, using tight shots and darkened frames to bring the viewers into the characters' headspace, capturing the sense of dread that pervades the environment.
The sound design and lighting work hand in hand to heighten the tension
The "time" it ratchets up the tension and creates a constant sense of unease, making every moment more urgent and dangerous. The director skillfully builds tension with subtle sound cues, screeches and echoes that add to the scares of the film. The film makes effective use of silence, creating an unsettling silence that is only broken by sudden bursts of sound that achieve greater impact.
