  • Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). An MSP service for small and medium-sized businesses. It comprises virtualized hardware such as server space, network connections, IP addresses, load balancers, and other computer infrastructure that allows clients to develop their own platforms in a cloud computing environment. 
  • Help desk. A service that offers end-users information and technical help. Some MSPs brand their help desk services to provide a more seamless experience for their clients. 
  • IT. An enterprise solution for housing, transferring, producing, and utilizing data via computer devices, networks, and telecommunications. 
  • Internet of Things (IoT). An emerging network of tangible items and devices that have software, sensors, and internet or private network access that may share information in accordance with the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Standards Initiative. 
  • In-house IT managed services. The process by which a company hires its own IT service providers and covers their salaries, perks, and additional training, as well as the infrastructure they manage. In-house IT only impacts the business’s capacity to expand and scale.

  • Managed IT services are IT tasks and procedures performed by a third-party firm. Managed service provider (MSP)—An IT professional (or IT company) that provides managed IT services to a range of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Their primary focus is on addressing client IT needs.
