How to run your own successful real estate blog

If you are passionate about real estate and like to talk or write about it, then this is for you. Let´s face it, only because we like nice properties it doesn’t mean we are born to be a real estate agent. This might not be our cup of tea although we can ramble about architecture for hours. But besides those well-paid jobs like a real estate agent or architect, being a good real estate blogger can pay out big time as well.

There are so many guidelines out there on “how to start your own blog”. Usually, it starts with finding a niche that is unique, get a great domain name, hosting and so on and son… it seems like an endless list of to-dos before you can write your first word and then you still need to climb up in google rankings. Not really that simple if you ask me. But there is a much simpler way you can try.

I call it the cuckoo method

Basically, in this method you skip the whole first part of setting up your own blog. Just like the cuckoo you will lay your eggs in someone else’s nest. The only difference is that the owner of that “nest” will also benefit from it making this a win-win situation. How can anyone say no to this?

All you need to do is to find a website, maybe the site of an agent or an international real estate platform that has no blog yet but is already well established in Google. Then you offer them your services. They can create a blog for you on their site that you manage free of charge but in return you are allowed to keep whatever money might come from paid ads that run on “your” blog or backlinks someone pays you to enter into your articles. It is advisable to make a legal contract with the site owner so there will be no misunderstandings in the future.

Of course, this method can work for other blog topics as well.
