Hybrid Events are Now a Necessity, Not a Suggestion

The post-pandemic business world looks much different than the pre-pandemic one did. Many large offices have closed as employees are working from home. Physical presence in the workplace just isn’t the necessity that we once thought it was.

This is also the case when it comes to business events. Many people who used to travel often for work, now find they want to spend their time closer to home. This means that they want to be able to attend events through digital engagement platforms virtually most of the time.

Even those who come to events in person still want a more hybrid experience. They want a virtual aspect to events that allows for more engagement, including gamification of the event.

Gamification can include things like testing attendees on information about a product, or rewarding them for social media mentions. Gamification has shown to be an effective tool in garnering attendee engagement.

Despite most individual’s desire to keep working remotely and to keep attending virtual events, “Zoom fatigue” is a real and burdensome problem. Virtual interactions require us to lay aside natural tendencies and to engage in a more artificial way. It can be exhausting and has a significant effect on the psyche.

This is another reason why hybrid events are so vital moving forward. Hybrid events cater to multiple audience types. They can help each person find the option that makes them the most comfortable and the most involved.
